One of the major events in the Christian doctrine that many followers are looking out for is known as the Rapture which is mentioned in the book of Revelations. The Rapture is also known as the Second Coming and is the event in which Jesus returns to earth to get all his followers and finally defeat the devil. Of course, one would wonder what the signs are of this event.
Mainly, there are actually four signs that one may experience in this present world that would already showcase the rapture coming. One would be the tribulations wherein the four horsemen would arise and plague the earth with chaos. These four horsemen are actually representations of concepts namely war, famine, pestilence, and death.
Now, one would argue that World War II was the worst war that the earth has experienced and that there is definitely no more chance that it could happen again. Well, if one would watch news, he or she would see that humans have now made a weapon even worse than the atomic bombs which is the nuclear bomb. A drop of nuclear bomb could result in the spreading of chemical induced illnesses, the destruction of the earth leading to food shortage, and then human extinction.
Another pivotal sign would be the return of Elijah. Jesus Christ stated that the return of Elijah to restore Christianity is one of the main signs to look out for before the return of Christ. Many Christians believe that Elijah has already returned in the form of Herbert W Armstrong as the broadcaster of a Christian radio station.
A strong sign would also be when Christianity would spread among people of the world. Well, considering that Christianity is over a thousand years old and an extremely big religion worldwide, one can argue that this sign has been fulfilled. It is a matter of time before the Rapture would begin if that was the case.
Of course, the message in the Bible to men was for the apostles and the whole world to reach out and spread the gospel. Over the years, the gospel has been spread worldwide wherein so many people have been converted. Lastly, there is the sign that an extremely evil man will take control of this world and unify all currencies under one. This man will be known as the antichrist and will be opposing Christianity. Now, there are actually so many people who may fit this description so it may be a hard to pinpoint who exactly this evil leader is.
