The teachings from Shackleton leadership program are very fundamental in ensuring that the leaders are effective in their leadership. Some of these teachings include the following. Leaders are expected to put the plight their people first. A leader who does not consider the plight of his subject is not good for leadership position. Looking at their plight also includes looking at their security and offering them with appropriate protection.

Flexibility is also another element worth consideration. A good leader must be one who is flexible to the changing circumstance within the society. Being flexible also calls for being tactical in the way you approach issue. A leader must also be ready to listen to his people. Listening will enable you as a leader to know the expectations of those whom you are leading hence you are better place to address their issues effectively.

A leader must also be ready to delegate authority to other people.Effective delegation duties and authority is also another thing which a leader should learn.However, delegation must be conducted in a professional way.

When there is difficulty, already must be ready to maintain the face of optimistic. It is the leader who needs to give people some hope. If as a leader you look worried of the situations at hand, then most likely the people you are leading will feel demoralized and there are likely to lose hope. It is important to always give you subjects hope in all they are doing. If things are difficult, it is the leader who people are running to give directions and consolation.

Being optimistic in time of difficulty is also essential element of leadership. Being able to maintain a bold face during difficult times. This will also make the people to be courageous in all the things they do. The other thing to consider is being able to show good example as a leader. Good leaders are the ones which are mentoring their subjects. You cannot mentor someone if you are not a role model. A leader therefore must be ready to be a role model.

As a leader, you must also strive for equal treatment. Everybody should be treated equally within the society. The leader must therefore strive that nobody is favored or treated as a superior. If the subjects are treated in an equal manner, they will have respect for the leadership and its authority.

It is also good to first give warnings to your subjects whenever they do mistakes. The second time when they repeat the mistake they should be liable for punishment. This should cut across irrespective of the position they hold in the society. Promoting equal treatment off everybody ensures that the authority is exercised effectively.

It is also important that a leader should be cautious in pursuing their goals. The goals must be achievable and realistic. The leader is the one responsible for setting of goals and ensuring that those goals are achieved. These are some of the teachings a leader can learn from Shackleton leadership program.
